My Journey

The desire to express my creativity has always been ingrained in my soul. I’ve explored all forms of art; pottery, art 1, art 2, 3D art, jewelry making, book binding, even set design in theater, and then going on to get a bachelors of art and science degree in Interior Design.

I found my way back to pottery in 2021 taking weekly classes at a local studio, and while I’ve continued to dabble in other artistic endeavors, pottery had captured my heart.

In April of 2023 my best friend talked me into showing off my talents and selling my pottery. I was a bit hesitant, but together we created a Facebook page and named it Sugar Bakers Pottery & Crafts. He let me sell my pieces on his EBay account of all places, and people were loving them! In August of the same year I opened an Etsy page and the orders began to trickle in.

My Portfolio

I started craving more than just two hours of pottery each week that the studio offered, so I finally decided to turn my garage into a home studio in 2024.

The universe seemed to be conspiring in my favor, as I discovered a used kiln on Facebook Marketplace. I reached out to the seller and offered her $100. The next thing I knew I was loading up the kiln into the back of my little jeep patriot.

I continued on the garage turn studio project into the new year and then bought a cheap pottery wheel to get started on in the new space. By the end 2025 I got electrical ran for my kiln to finish out the studio project and was able to run my very first kiln firing!

I decided the beginning of 2026 that I was going to put more effort into Sugar Bakers and see where I end up. I just want to spread my art and it fuels my soul seeing people love my pieces.

I know my journey is far from over, but I feel like I’ve gotten the greatest start on my dream and it’s only going to get sweeter the further I go.
